Logo evolution
The JRC logo as recognized nowadays, is the key element of our corporate identity, and over the years, it has become a symbol for innovative, reliable products and services.
The first logo appeared in December 1915. Back then, ‘Japan Radio Company’ was known as ‘Nihon Musen, which literally stands for ‘Japan Radio’.
In 1920s, ‘Nihon Musen’ merged with a telegraph and telephone company, and consequently the logo changed. After 10 years, ‘Nihon Musen’ converted back into a single company and has brought back the simplified logo. In the 1940s, Nihon Musen only revised their logo as a combination of Japanese characters representing the company.
It was in December 1942 when the company changed their name into Japan Radio Company, and today’s known logo came into effect in December 1945.

The current JRC logo and corporate identity system is now more than 60 years old. The ‘smart and simple’ design will ensure that this timeless mark will endure well into the 21st century.
